Coach Austin has been coaching different sports for over 40 years, beginning when he was 16 years old. He has coached Youth Baseball League Champions and coached at the Pee Wee Reece National Baseball Championship Tournament. He has coached Youth basketball City and league champions. He has coached volleyball at Shawnee Mission North and was the Head Varsity Coach at Bishop Ward High School. He has also coached youth football and soccer teams.
He began coaching volleyball approximately 8 years ago and has had a reputation of winning while coaching the right way. All of his players play approximately the same amount and all contribute to those wins. He stresses playing with “joy” while always encouraging and pushing each girl to continue their improvement.
Coach Austin is excited to bring his coaching philosophy to this club and to standardize that philosophy throughout the club. If you come to a game or practice you will almost always see a smile on the coach’s face and hopefully see the girls smiling and laughing as well. However, we never lose sight of the importance of competing at our highest level.

My name is Holly Schneider and I am from Overland Park, Kansas. I began playing volleyball in 7th grade and have been unable to stop playing ever since! I was a strong player, whom earned Sunflower League Honors at Shawnee Mission South High School. I was lucky enough to continue my volleyball career at Highland Community College. I then transferred to Kansas State University and was a part of the Women’s Rowing Team. I graduated in May of 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Human Nutrition. I have been living in Minneapolis and Chicago for the past year but will be returning to the Kansas City area to begin with VooDoo. I am excited for the opportunity to mentor and coach young girls both on and off the court! Here is to a great season!!
I grew up in a small town outside of St. Louis, Missouri. My brothers and I were very active and loved sports. I began playing volleyball in the third grade and absolutely fell in love with the game. I joined my first club team in 6th grade and played all the way through senior year. After some health issues, I elected to take a break from playing for a while. I am currently a senior at the University of Kansas studying psychology and sport management. After my first semester at KU I heard about the women’s club volleyball team and knew I had to tryout. After playing another five semesters of club, I decided I finally wanted to try a new level of the sport. I am very excited to join Voodoo Volleyball as a coach, to try and share my love for the sport with these athletes!!
